Recently took a trip down to the Yucatan to celebrate the 2012 winter solstice. 3 days in Playa Del Carmen and 3 days in Valladolid, a colonial town about 30 minutes away from Chichen Itza. Along the way we stopped by Tulum to check out the ruins by sea. We paid this cat 600 pesos for a supposed boat ride/tour guide/snorkel package. Shit was pretty much a scam. “Captain Reyes” took us on a janky ass boat and didn’t say a word the entire ride so I had to take shit into my own hands…

As soon as the hard copies were in the streets were hit hard, grass roots style slangin CDs out the trunk in the hood. Although extremely burnt at times, being out there on the streets and interacting with the people face to face was a priceless experience. A lot has changed since then.
